With the support of a €8.5 million loan from the Dutch Good Growth Fund (DGGF), HatchTech Group is set to expand its production facility in Ukraine. Thereby further solidifying its position as a global leader in hatchery technology. HatchTech Group, a holding company of a technology-driven enterprise specializing in hatchery equipment, is dedicated to developing animal-friendly solutions for the poultry industry. The company’s innovative systems are sold in 41 countries, including major markets in Europe, the Americas, Australia, and Japan.
Driving Sustainable Food Solutions
HatchTech’s primary focus is to create sustainable, efficient equipment that supports responsible food production worldwide. The company offers a range of climate-controlled incubation and hatchery systems, transport solutions, and advanced gender identification systems for eggs, which are designed to improve animal welfare and minimize resource use. While the research, development, and testing of these technologies are done in the Netherlands, the bulk of their production takes place at their central facility in Ukraine.
To meet growing global demand, HatchTech plans to expand its Ukrainian production capacity. This expansion will not only enhance the production of hatchery equipment but will also support the international roll-out of egg gender-sorting technology, a key innovation in reducing waste in poultry laying hen production. This technology helps determine the gender of embryos before hatching, eliminating the need for the traditional practice of culling male chicks, thus improving animal welfare and resource efficiency.

Economic Impact and Job Creation
The expansion project is expected to generate approximately 100 direct jobs in Ukraine, contributing to the local economy and providing decent employment opportunities (SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth). HatchTech is committed to offering living wages and fair working conditions to its employees, further enhancing the project’s positive economic impact.
Production Efficiency and Animal Welfare
HatchTech’s innovative technologies are setting new standards for responsible production and consumption (SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production). Their cutting-edge gender-sorting system and early feeding solutions are designed to optimize care for newly hatched chicks and improve resource utilization across the poultry industry. By eliminating the need to hatch unwanted male chicks, HatchTech’s solutions reduce feed and hatching capacity waste, leading to more sustainable poultry production.

Climate Change Through Innovation
HatchTech is also actively addressing the challenge of climate change by developing energy-efficient solutions for their clients (SDG 13: Climate Action). Their products, such as HatchCare and HatchTraveller, help reduce energy consumption and improve feed conversion rates, contributing to lower greenhouse gas emissions. HatchTraveller, for example, is a battery-powered, hybrid transportation solution that enhances efficiency during chick transport, while gender-sorting technology prevents the unnecessary breeding of male chicks, further reducing the industry’s environmental footprint.
HatchTech Group’s expansion in Ukraine, supported by the DGGF loan, is a significant step toward advancing sustainable, animal-friendly technologies in the poultry industry. By increasing production capacity, improving resource efficiency, and creating jobs, HatchTech is not only contributing to the global economy but also helping to build a more sustainable and humane future for food production.
