Fiber Foods makes Ugandan jackfruit their plant-based hero
Jackfruit has taken its seat at the plant-based food table. This versatile fruit is quickly becoming a favourite plant-based meat substitute due to its meaty texture and rich nutritional profile. Dutch start-up Fiber Foods recognised an opportunity to innovate by dehydrating jackfruit, unlocking additional nutritional and production efficiency benefits compared to fresh jackfruit. With a loan from the Dutch Good Growth Fund, they will set-up their own dehydrated jackfruit processing facility in Uganda.
