Helping banks support clients when the risk is high

As a bank, you want to serve your clients even when their international ambitions take them into riskier markets. But sometimes you can’t say yes. Country risk, limited credit security, or high onboarding costs can make certain deals unworkable, especially for smaller loans.

That’s where Invest International comes in.

We help you keep your client relationship intact when a deal doesn’t yet fit within your risk appetite or business case. Our flexible financing instruments allow us to take on higher risks,  and make international growth possible—together.

How we can help your clients

  1. Co-financing structures: We provide complementary financing alongside banks, enabling larger, riskier, or more complex deals to proceed.
  2. Risk mitigation through guarantees: We issue guarantees that reduce exposure, making it easier for banks to finance clients in frontier or high-risk markets.
  3. Standalone financing with close coordination: We offer direct financing, always in close coordination with their bank. This keeps the client relationship intact and can pave the way for future co-investment opportunities.

Are you a financier with a client who has a great international proposal you can't finance yet?

A partnership between Invest International, the Mozambican government, the World Bank and the KfW Development Bank is making real progress towards protecting the coast and thus the 600,000 people living in the city.

Want sustainable cashews? Check Johnny Cashew’s mission

95% of cashew nuts grown in Africa and consumed in Europe are shelled in Asia, leading to a polluting 12,000-kilometre detour from farm to table. Dutch startup Johnny Cashew has decided to do away with the so-called 'detour cashew' and create the world's first carbon-neutral, fair and transparent cashew chain.
