Project summary
GX International is a Dutch-Indian technology company active in the development and manufacturing of Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) solutions, enabling telecom operators to deliver high-speed internet access to households and businesses. To support growing demand in India’s telecommunications market, the company is investing in the expansion of its current assembly facility and the establishment of a new photonics production facility.
The investment will significantly increase local manufacturing capacity for advanced telecommunications equipment and components that are essential for the rollout of next-generation broadband infrastructure. It also supports the development of India’s domestic technology manufacturing ecosystem, reducing dependence on imports while strengthening local expertise in high-tech production.
A key part of the investment is the creation of a new subsidiary focused on semiconductor and photonics chip manufacturing. This initiative is expected to become a cornerstone of India’s emerging photonics sector and will be developed in close collaboration with Dutch innovation partner SMART Photonics in Eindhoven.
In addition to supporting India’s digital ambitions, the project strengthens technological cooperation between India and the Netherlands, while creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, innovation and future economic growth in both countries.
