Project Summary
This large-scale project has provided 34 hospitals across Tanzania with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, including X-ray machines, CT scanners, MRIs, ultrasound systems, and laboratory photometers. In addition, modern surgical and dental tools were introduced to enhance medical procedures. Beyond equipment, the initiative will still includes essential civil works, extensive training programs for medical staff, and a long-term operations & maintenance framework to sustain hospital functionality. By leveraging Dutch expertise in healthcare technology and consultancy, we are not only improving medical infrastructure but also ensuring knowledge transfer to local professionals, creating a lasting impact on Tanzania’s healthcare system.
Despite Tanzania’s economic growth and transition to lower-middle-income status, major financial barriers remain in upgrading healthcare infrastructure. Many investors shy away due to the high costs of medical technology, logistical challenges, and the need for long-term maintenance needs. Invest International stepped in to bridge this financial gap, co-financing the project alongside the Tanzanian government, enabling better healthcare services for millions of people.
