Project summary

Across Africa, there’s a rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases and their risk factors such as diabetes, heart attack and high blood pressure. In Nigeria, where less than 20% of primary healthcare centres are functional, and with a large shortage of healthcare workers, long waiting times for patients and limited access to care could mean life or death.

Platos Health has developed a groundbreaking solution: Platos offers patients solutions for self-monitoring and transmits the resulting data to care providers for data-driven and timely care. Its solutions are already launched for diabetes, and hypertension prevention and management. Platos care pathways are game-changers. Empowering patients to tackle the core aspects of diabetes care not only cuts down costs but also bridges the gap in healthcare accessibility, thereby empowering patients to reclaim control over their lives.

The impact speaks volumes: with Platos’ intervention, users are witnessing tangible savings in medication costs, improved access to care, and a newfound sense of autonomy. Behind this success lies support from Invest International, who provided DGGF pre-investment support, solidifying the evidence of Platos Health BV’s transformative business model in action.
