Several types of tea on spoons

Project summary

Our vision in the Agri-food sector: make healthy, nutritious food more accessible while building supply chains that are fair, resilient, and sustainable. Partnering with ODF allows us to support the growth of organic agriculture in emerging markets. Besideds empowering local farmers, protecting the environment, and connecting global demand with responsible supply.

ODF is structured as a blended finance facility that combines concessional and private capital. As such they effectively bridge the gap between impact goals and commercially viable investment in high-growth sectors across emerging markets.

The fund’s mission is delivering fair-priced, working capital loans to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that aggregate and export certified organic ingredients. These local businesses are key to connecting thousands of smallholder farmers to global markets and strengthening organic value chains from farm to fork.

A recent example of ODF

ODF recently invested in ISIS Organic, a leading organic food processor in Egypt and part of the SEKEM Group Initiative. ISIS is known for producing high-quality organic products like teas, spices, and juices, while creating strong local impact through fair wages and sustainable farming practices, in line with the Economy of Love certification. This investment strengthens the connection between smallholder farmers in Egypt and global markets—especially through partnerships with Tradin Organic.

The ODF Fund was founded by Dutch organic sourcing and trading company Tradin Organic Agriculture and is managed by FOUNT, a leading Dutch impact investment firm. With its base in the Netherlands and strong Dutch ties, the fund also enhances access to ethically sourced organic commodities for Dutch and European markets. Invest International’s cornerstone role is designed to attract additional impact investors and further scale the reach of this initiative.
