Project Summary
Incision is a leading Dutch MedTech company transforming how surgical teams prepare and perform. Their digital solutions help hospitals enhance the performance and efficiency of their surgical units and operating rooms (ORs). Its offering is built around two complementary platforms:
- Incision Assist is a mobile tool that digitally captures OR workflows, giving surgical staff streamlined access to procedure-specific information while enabling managers to tailor resources to their teams. It has been adopted by hospitals worldwide to reduce case turnover times, accelerate onboarding, and improve overall OR performance.
- Incision Academy is an online learning platform featuring over 500 professionally filmed, clinical training videos. It supports cross-specialty education through a validated, step-by-step methodology that enhances both learning and surgical execution.
Together, these platforms empower surgical teams with the knowledge, structure, and tools needed to deliver safer, more efficient care.
Digital solutions supporting hospitals
Already used in over 200 hospitals across Europe, Invest International joined a consortium of health-focused institutional investors to help finance Incision with their U.S. expansion. This investment will help Incision address critical challenges in U.S. operating rooms, including increasing complexity, staff shortages, and rising costs. The platform supports all members of the surgical team, from surgeons and scrub nurses to midwives and radiologists, and is especially relevant for high-volume procedures like caesareans, laparotomies, and hernia repairs. With its focus on patient safety, cost reduction, and staff wellness, Incision is one of the few non-U.S. players in this space, strengthening the international footprint of Dutch MedTech excellence.

Promoting Dutch MedTech globally
As a rare non-U.S. leader in surgical training tech, Incision’s U.S. launch expands Dutch healthcare innovation projected to reach hundreds of high-volume hospitals.
Advancing health and well-being
By standardising procedures and boosting team performance, Incision helps lower maternal and child mortality, reduce complications, and improve chronic care outcomes.
Reducing medical waste
With operating rooms generating 70% of hospital waste, Incision’s app reduces material use and supports sustainability goals like ISO 14001.
