Project summary

Founded in 2017, Brand Coffee Farm was designed as an agro-ecological demonstration farm to prove that high-quality coffee can be produced through regenerative practices. By focusing on improved farming techniques, controlled processing and full traceability, the project challenges long-standing assumptions about Robusta (Canephora) coffee quality.

With support from Invest International, the project followed a phased approach: early-stage technical assistance to establish the farm and training programmes, followed by targeted financing to professionalise processing and scale operations.

Today, Brand Coffee Farm connects more than 900 smallholder farmers to a growing ecosystem of training, quality control and market access, leading to the first export shipment reaching Rotterdam in January 2026.

At its core, the project demonstrates that quality is driven not by species, but by farming and processing methods. Thereby unlocking new opportunities for smallholder farmers in Uganda’s coffee sector.
