Project summary
The global cotton sector is under pressure. Soil degradation, biodiversity loss, intensive pesticide use, low farmer incomes and complex supply chains threaten both livelihoods and the environment. Smallholder farmers, particularly in tribal communities, often struggle to access fair markets, quality inputs and sustainable farming knowledge.
Dutch-Indian social enterprise Raddis Cotton is helping transform the sector. By working directly with farming communities in southern India, the company promotes regenerative agriculture, transparency and long-term partnerships across the cotton value chain.

Through the Dutch Good Growth Fund (DGGF), managed on behalf of the Dutch ministry of Foreign Affairs, Invest International provided a €800,000 loan facility to finance cotton procurement for the 2025/2026 season. Subsequently, a €1,200,000 loan facility has been provided for the 2026/2027 cotton season.
These supply chain financings enable Raddis Cotton to meet growing demand from international buyers, including global fashion brands such as Hugo Boss and the new workwear for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, while expanding its positive impact on farming communities.
