Project Summary

Proeon Foods BV develops next-generation plant-based protein ingredients for protein sufficiency, supplements and egg replacement. Based in the Netherlands’ Delft Biotech Campus, the company is now moving from pilot to commercial production. Their mung bean and peanut proteins offer sustainable, functional alternatives for global food manufacturers. With a growing demand for cleaner, more sustainable protein sources, Proeon is responding by scaling up production in Pune, India, bringing Dutch innovation to the heart of a high-potential market. The project will generate local jobs including for women, while also strengthening the Netherlands’ position in the global foodtech value chain.

Through the Dutch Good Growth Fund, Invest International stepped in with a start-up loan, enabling Proeon to bridge the valley between proven R&D and scalable commercial production—supporting both sustainable growth and stable employment.
