Export finance provides tailored financial solutions that support healthy cash flow and enable Dutch exporters to expand internationally. Van den Heuvel Dairy & Food Equipment, a Dutch company supplying production lines for the dairy and liquid food processing industry, recently demonstrated this by using export finance to support an overseas project in Gambia.
Van den Heuvel Dairy & Food Equipment, a company specializing in the supply of production lines for the dairy and liquid food processing industry, utilized export finance and working capital to expand a mango juice production line in Gambia for Rahma Gambia Ltd. With the export financing facility provided by Invest International, Rahma Gambia Ltd. was able to purchase equipment from Van den Heuvel and enhance their production capacity.
The project enabled Rahma Gambia Ltd. to increase their output to 1,000 liters of mango juice, sourced from local farmers. This initiative not only strengthens the local value chain in Gambia but also aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG 8) by promoting decent work and economic growth. By utilizing export finance and pre-export working capital, Van den Heuvel ensured a steady cash flow while contributing to sustainable development in emerging markets.Â
Through export finance, Van den Heuvel secured funding for an international project with a relatively small transaction value, filling the gap left by conventional lenders.
By offering Rahma Gambia Ltd. deferred payment terms, Van den Heuvel helped the buyer manage their cash flow effectively while securing business growth opportunities abroad.
Van den Heuvel’s project demonstrates how effective partnerships with fund manager OHV and Atradius Dutch State Business can enhance financial offerings for exporters.
The expansion of Rahma Gambia Ltd.'s mango juice production line directly contributes to SDG 8 by fostering job creation and supporting local farmers in Gambia.
