Project Summary
In 2022 Invest International has financed Bontrup’s agricultural expansion in northeastern Ukraine, facilitating the purchase of essential machinery, silos and the construction of elevators, amid the ongoing war. Bontrup Ukraine, operating on 22,000 hectares in the Sumy region, grows maize, wheat, rapeseed, and sunflower, employing around ~300 locals. The funding enhanced storage capacity, significantly impacting local economic and social conditions.
The most recent financing of Invest International through the Dutch Good Growth Fund, signed in December 2025, is meant for new precision farming equipment to operate the land near the villages of Bereza, Ivot, Chaplievka. All the activities are based in the (50km) buffer zone with the Russian border.
Operating close to the Russian border, Bontrup demonstrates how targeted investment can support resilience, local employment and global food security, also under extreme circumstances.
