Electric vehicle charging

Project summary

Transport operators across East Africa face rising fuel costs and increasing pressure to reduce emissions. While electric vehicles offer a cleaner and more affordable alternative, access to financing and charging infrastructure remains a major barrier to adoption.

Electric Transits Africa (ETA) is building the ecosystem needed to make electric mobility work at scale. The company provides electric vehicles through leasing solutions and is rolling out charging infrastructure across Kenya. Invest International supported ETA from an early stage with technical assistance, helping the company prove its business model, and a start-up loan to scale operations.
