wastewater treatment plant

Project Summary

Invest International provided grant funding of €1 million for development and an additional €12 million for construction, operation and maintenance of the €42.5 million wastewater treatment project, which was developed and partly implemented by Royal HaskoningDHV. Utilising Royal HaskoningDHV’s Carrousel® technology, the plant processes 30,000 cubic meters of wastewater daily, showcasing Dutch innovation and international cooperation. As the first of its kind in Vietnam, the plant uses advanced biological treatment methods for municipal and industrial wastewater.

Water treatment plants require significant investment, which can be challenging for some regions to fund through local budgets alone. By reducing financial risk, the grant enabled co-funding by the local government and the adoption of Royal HaskoningDHV’s advanced technology. This modern wastewater treatment plant is a significant step towards solving the environmental challenges faced by Ba Ria – Vung Tau province and Phu My Town. By efficiently managing both municipal and industrial wastewater, the plant helps protect the environment, improve public health, and support regional economic growth.
